A few things that make me feel at least a little serotonin are concerts, books, and Lady Gaga. You can usually find me listening to a Lana Del Rey or Stevie Nicks record while writing bad poetry that makes me feel better about my emotions.

 

Film, TV, and I have a… unique relationship. I enjoy watching, by "watching" I mean becoming emotionally invested in, projects that touch me. If you ever see me crying it’s probably because I’m thinking about how Andrea died way back in season three of The Walking Dead. I aspire to have the same level of tough gal grit as Lana Winters from AHS: Asylum. If you're a fellow journalist you probably know what I mean.

In high school, I was the chief editor of my high school publication for two years. While working with The Canine Courier, I had a close relationship with my staff and my instructor. The talent I encountered in class was mind-blowing! Every person on my staff brought something new and unique to the press table, that’s for sure.

Currently, I am attending the University of Missouri and plan to graduate with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in film studies. Another big part of my life are my siblings: I have a younger sister and younger brother. My sister, Brinley, is 15 and my best friend. My brother, Cullen, almost a year old, and he never ceases to make me smile.

My future holds a job at a magazine or newspaper, a partner in crime, and hopefully a family. I have other goals, too. Like attending the Met Gala and getting to ask Lady Gaga if she thought my jacket was comfortable. Yes, I threw it onstage at a concert...
